Home Delivered Meals

A priority for the Friends of Aging, a free hot lunch is delivered to homebound seniors by caring volunteers. If you or a loved one over 60 years old needs help, please contact Mary Kurek at 252-247-2626 or mary.kurek@carteretcountync.gov.

Home Access Program

This unique service uses simple technology to connect homebound seniors to activities at the Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center. Seniors are taught how to use Skype or video conferencing software on a tablet or desktop computer to connect to the Center. This allows them to see friends and participate in activities via live-streaming video that they ordinarily wouldn’t be able to travel to. For more information about the program contact, Mary Kurek at 252-247-2626 or mary.kurek@carteretcountync.gov.

Friendly Visits

Our Friendly Visits are one of our favorite services to set up. We coordinate volunteers to make personal visits to homebound seniors. This is a socialization opportunity for those unable to leave home, and a way for us to check up on them to make sure they are doing well and that all of their needs are being met. We’ll do just about anything to brighten up your day.
